Man Found Dead After House Fire in Etobicoke Basement
Toronto firefighters found an adult male dead after a basement blaze, and three other people were assessed at the scene, officials said.
An adult male died early Saturday following a house fire in Etobicoke after emergency crews discovered him in the basement of a home on Moynes Avenue.
Toronto Fire Services crews brought the basement blaze under control soon after arriving on scene, while Toronto Paramedics assessed three people at the location without transporting them to hospital.
Police officers, paramedics, and firefighters responded to the residence near The Queensway and Royal York Road shortly before 12:30 a.m., where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop will provide an update during a news conference around 9 a.m. Saturday in the area, while the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
