Police said the victim was shot once in the head, and no arrests have been made as detectives search for a motive.
On Sunday morning, police discovered 31-year-old Aaron Lee Vidales Jr. fatally shot in the head at a Dollar Tree parking lot in the 2900 block of Colorado Avenue in Joliet.
