Mamdani releases long-awaited Racial Equity Plan
The release comes just days after a Manhattan state court judge ruled that both the Mamdani and Adams administration had broken the law by failing to release the charter-mandated plan on time. It was originally due in April 2024.
New York launches an ambitious plan to combat racial inequalities, setting targets in housing, employment and justice by 2034. The project includes more than 200 goals, with biannual follow-up, and seeks to improve health, education and transportation for historically marginalized groups.
