In the previous three campaigns, approximately 6,000 babies have been prevented from entering Andalusian hospitals due to bronchiolitis.
On Monday, September 21, Andalusia launched a new campaign to immunize babies against the sincitial respiratory virus (SVR), the main cause of bronchiolitis in infants. The measure is again applied with nirsevimab, a medicine that is given in a single dose in most babies and seeks to reduce serious infections and, especially, hospital admissions during the months of the highest circulation of the virus.
