Polling in Sochi was halted after officials ordered voters and election workers into shelters as Russia reported 629 Ukrainian drones shot down overnight.
Normally in Russia, the point of national elections is a state-controlled vote overwhelmingly endorsing stability and the man running the Kremlin. That was before Ukrainian drones.
Russian voters went to the polls on Friday on the first day of parliamentary elections scheduled for three days and expected to win by Vladimir Putin's party, a first day marked by an attack by Ukrainian drones.
