Zilla Fatu used a contract clause for a title shot and turned the NXT Championship bout into a Fatal 4-Way, WWE said.
- On Tuesday, Zilla Fatu signed his NXT contract and claimed it entitled him to an immediate title shot, inserting himself into the NXT Championship match at Heatwave on August 30 and transforming the bout into a Fatal 4-Way.
- After Zilla Fatu caused a no-contest in last week's number one contender's match, NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced a Triple Threat between NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo, Grayson Waller, and Cruz Montana for August 30.
- During the 8/18 NXT episode, both Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana staked their claims to a title shot inside the WWE Performance Center before Stone confirmed Fatu's championship opportunity upon his contract signing.
