- On Monday, the Chief Electoral Officer reported that over 2.06 crore electors, accounting for 21.14 per cent of Maharashtra's previous voter base, were excluded from the draft electoral roll following a Special Intensive Revision.
- Maharashtra is among 19 states conducting this third phase of the Special Intensive Revision, with exclusions attributed to voters being untraceable, deceased, having shifted residences, or declining to submit enumeration forms.
- The updated draft roll currently comprises more than 7.71 crore voters, with Pune, Thane, and Mumbai Suburban recording the highest number of uncollectable enumeration forms during the revision.
- While Election Commission guidelines state Aadhaar is "not mandatory," Booth Level Officers report the App creates barriers for those without it, as the enrollment option is not enabled.
- Eligible voters whose names are missing can file claims and objections between August 31 and September 30, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on November 4.
