On Monday, tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka were crowned Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year at the Laureus Awards ceremony in Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain claimed World Team of the Year after winning the French league, Cup, and their first Champions League title in 2025. Rory McIlroy received World Comeback of the Year after an 11-year wait to complete his career Grand Slam.
Formula One driver Lando Norris won World Breakthrough of the Year, while tennis great Novak Djokovic and freestyle skier Eileen Gu co-hosted the ceremony in a first for the awards.
Alcaraz secured his title after winning the French and U.S. Opens last year, while Sabalenka earned hers following her second consecutive U.S. Open victory and strong performances across 2025.
