The federal government entered into a lawsuit today in the Federal Justice in Pernambuco against 17 bet companies to collect compensation for damages to the SUS (Unified Health System). In the action, the Union asks R $ 1 billion of platforms for moral and legal damages.
The Brazilian government decided to move an action on Monday (28) in the amount of R$ 1 billion against 17 online betting operators — the bets — to collect compensation for expenses of the Unified Health System (SUS) attributed to the damages caused by the game and collective moral damages. The AGU processed 17 bookmakers and collected at least R$ 1 billion of collective moral damage. Preliminary studies by the Ministry of Health indicate a minimum loss of R$ 2.6 billion to the SUS, against R$ 50 million transferred by companies in the last year.
