LSU piled up 731 yards and scored on defense as Sam Leavitt threw three touchdown passes in a game that set a school record with 102 plays.
On Saturday night in Baton Rouge, the LSU Tigers defeated the McNeese Cowboys 63-14 at Tiger Stadium, improving to 4-1 while setting a school record with 102 offensive plays.
Following a tough loss to Ole Miss on September 19, head coach Lane Kiffin's squad has won two consecutive games while accumulating 731 yards of total offense against McNeese.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns, while running backs Harlem Berry and Stacy Gage combined for three rushing scores as LSU scored at least 14 points in each quarter.
Defensively, the Tigers limited McNeese to six first downs and one conversion on 12 third-down attempts, though Cowboys quarterback Jamaal Levi scored on a 64-yard rushing touchdown.
LSU travels to Kentucky next Saturday to continue Southeastern Conference play, while McNeese prepares for Northwestern State on October 17.
