The decision for one of the two European Capitals of Culture 2030 has been made: it is the Belgian city of Löwen.
Leuven will be the European Capital of Culture in 2030, an international jury has announced. The other contenders were Namur and the Brussels municipality of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. Mayor Mohamed Ridouani (Vooruit) is delighted: "What a release, what a relief. This has been a thriller." LOV2030 will take place not only in Leuven, but also in surrounding towns and municipalities in Flemish Brabant.
