Dodgers Make Tarik Skubal Decision for Game 1 of NLDS vs. Braves
Tarik Skubal, a back-to-back American League Cy Young winner, has posted a 2.61 ERA in 10 starts since joining Los Angeles.
- On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will start left-hander Tarik Skubal in Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves at Dodger Stadium.
- Acquired from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline, Skubal bolstered the staff as a two-time American League Cy Young Award winner posting a 2.61 ERA in 10 starts for Los Angeles.
- Strategic considerations influenced the choice; reports indicate the Braves have fared better against right-handed pitchers than left-handers this season, making Skubal's left-handed approach advantageous.
- Braves Manager Walt Weiss remains uncertain about Game 2, stating Chris Sale's status is "on the table" after his relief appearance Thursday in the wild-card series.
- Game 1 begins Saturday at 1:00 p.m. PDT at Dodger Stadium, where the Dodgers pursue a third consecutive championship while the Braves navigate a depleted pitching rotation.
