SALISBURY — A local Eagle Scout was recently named scout of the year by the North Carolina Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lucas Douthit, of Scout Troop 443 in Salisbury, was named the VFW Scout of the Year during a state convention in Greensboro on June 13.
