Liverpool Revise Ticket Rises Plan After Fan Protests as Statement Made
The club said further talks will seek longer-term solutions and commercial ideas after protests over an earlier plan that could have lifted prices about 7.3%.
On Thursday, Liverpool FC announced a revised ticket pricing plan, confirming a 3% inflation-based increase for the 2026/27 season followed by a price freeze for 2027/28.
Fan protests in recent weeks against an initial three-year proposal, which would have totaled around 7.3%, prompted the club to resume talks with the LFC Supporters Board.
The influential supporters' union, the Spirit of Shankly, welcomed the decision after weeks of discord, noting that "supporter voice is important" in shaping the club's financial strategies.
Further discussions will take place with the Supporters Board regarding future seasons, as both parties explore commercial ideas and alternative solutions to address long-term affordability.
Liverpool also confirmed plans to implement a young adult section within the Anfield Road Stand, though the club warned future inflationary increases may still be required beyond 2028.
