A live white-beaked dolphin stranded on the beach of Egmond aan Zee in the Netherlands last night. To protect the animal from overheating, bystanders kept it cool with wet cloths and buckets of water, the organization SOS Dolfijn reports on social media. The dolphin was later transferred to a specialized rescue center.
The animal was found by hikers, who called local dolphin expert Marco Snijders, NH Nieuws reports. "I asked if the animal was still alive, because if so, it is urgent," says Snijders.
A live white-beaked dolphin beached off the coast of Egmond aan Zee on Sunday evening, reports SOS Dolfijn. The animal is being kept cool with wet cloths, the foundation writes on Facebook.
