List of World Leaders Attending the BRICS Summit in New Delhi
The summit will bring together expanded BRICS members for bilateral talks as the grouping represents about 49.5% of the world’s population, officials said.
- New Delhi is hosting the 18th BRICS Summit on September 12-13, 2026, with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the two-day gathering of 11 emerging economies.
- India assumed its fourth BRICS Chairship on January 1, 2026, guiding the grouping under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," with members representing around 49.5 per cent of global population.
- South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto are participating, with many scheduling bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Prime Minister Modi is conducting bilateral meetings with visiting heads of state to strengthen partnerships, emphasizing deep civilisational ties between India and Indonesia during the grouping's 20th anniversary year.
- The grouping expanded in 2024 to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, with Indonesia joining in 2025; Belarus, Cuba, Nigeria, and Vietnam participate as partner countries.
