Lindsey Buckingham Hints at 2027 Plans with Stevie Nicks
Buckingham said Fleetwood Mac has been working on a documentary and that several projects could emerge next year as his friendship with Nicks has healed.
On Thursday, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham teased that 2027 will be a "pretty interesting year" for Fleetwood Mac, suggesting "quite a few things will reveal themselves." Speaking at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event, he confirmed the band is actively working on an upcoming documentary.
Reflecting on his 2018 firing, Buckingham explained that collective work on the documentary has been "a very circular healing process." He noted the band left things in a "not very good place" in 2019, but all issues have since been resolved.
The Apple TV+ documentary, directed by Frank Marshall, coincides with the 50th anniversary of Rumours, positioning 2027 as a vital year for the band. This milestone combines two major catalysts for Fleetwood Mac's renewed momentum.
Stevie Nicks and Buckingham are "talking all the time now," marking significant improvement in their previously fraught relationship. Last year's Buckingham Nicks album re-release helped create a "resurgence of connection" between the pair.
While fans hope for live performances, Nicks has appeared resistant to reviving the band following Christine McVie's 2022 death. Buckingham, however, maintains that future developments remain possible as their improved dynamic continues to unfold.
