Lily Allen in Talks to Turn West End Girl Album Into London Theatre Show
Lily Allen is in early talks to adapt her narrative album West End Girl into a stage play, following its surprise 2025 release and significant tour success.
- On Dec. 10, Lily Allen confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that talks are underway to adapt West End Girl into a play in London’s West End, saying she `might be` involved and `The ink is not dry`.
- Because West End Girl is a narrative album, written and recorded in 10 days before its surprise October 24 release, it naturally suits stage adaptation and was one of 2025’s biggest moments inspired by Allen’s pending divorce from David Harbour, actor.
- Lily Allen is no stranger to theatre, making her West End debut in Matthew Dunster’s 2:22 A Ghost Story in 2021 with a Laurence Olivier Award nomination, and starring in Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman and Hedda Gabler earlier this year.
- Producers will need a large theatre to meet demand — they’ll just need to find a big enough theatre and maybe the Phoenix — because the project would likely sell out fast, with Tennis and Madeline essential and Madeline’s texts shaping the act structure.
- Allen is gearing up for a spring 2026 tour and will perform on Saturday Night Live on December 13, bolstering momentum for a stage adaptation.
