The storms are back after water trombs fell on Wednesday and Thursday on the departments of Gard and Hérault. On Wednesday, the prefecture of l'Hérault closed schools located in eight critical areas due to a cevenol episode.
Important cumulations are expected on the department, warns Météo-France, which previews that the rains occur over quite short durations, "can therefore lead to significant runoff".
Météo-France activated the level of orange vigilance, noting a "wet and unstable air mass in the Mediterranean with the organisation of an active rainstorm system around the Gulf of Lion".
