I write as a longtime Oahu resident and retired federal biologist who spent 26 years protecting our natural resources. I am troubled by what happened at JERA’s second open house on Aug. 5, when Sierra Club of Hawai‘i Director Wayne Tanaka was expelled for sharing an informational handout with fellow attendees (“Community members weigh in on LNG proposal,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 8).
