Letter: Alaska Air strategy OK if Hawaiian Air survives | Honolulu Star-Advertiser

A writer bemoaned Hawaiian Air’s cancellation of flights to Boston, Fukuoka and Incheon (“Alaska Air sucking life out of Hawaiian,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 17). Airlines cut routes that are not profitable. Tourism from the Far East never recovered from COVID. The Boston flight is 10-12 hours long and requires a larger flight crew due to FAA regulations, extra personnel that can be used on other flights.
