Leighton Buzzard Rugby Club’s opening home league game in Midlands Counties 1 East (South) ended in a nerve- jangling draw against Wellingborough. The visitors arrived as early season league leaders so this was a stern challenge for Buzzards. Whilst there were only three tries in a relatively low-scoring game this was a testament to both sides defence rather than any lack of ambition from either side.
