Riggs Rules Trucks at New Hampshire
Riggs earned his sixth win of the season and secured the top seed after beating teammate Chandler Smith by 0.293 seconds.
On Saturday, Layne Riggs secured his sixth win of the season at the Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, clinching the top seed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase.
Riggs credited his team for making key adjustments to his truck during the dramatic double-overtime regular season finale. Front Row Motorsports teammate Chandler Smith finished second in the race.
The 24-year-old North Carolinian led a race-high 106 of 189 laps, holding off Smith on the final green-white-checkered restart to claim a.293-second margin of victory.
McAnally-Hilgemann Racing driver Tyler Ankrum finished 16th but clinched the tenth and final Chase position, holding a seven-point edge over veteran Stewart Friesen to advance.
The series enters a four-week break before the seven-race title run begins September 17 with the UNOH 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway, where Riggs enters as the defending winner.
