Late week Piedmont Triad storms may turn severe | Here's the timeline

After a comfortable start to Thursday, heat and humidity will begin to increase during the day as a warm front approaches from the south. Scattered storms will begin to fire up in the west late in the afternoon, and then track through the Triad in the evening. Storms numbers are not expected to be impressive, but any storms that develops may produce damaging winds, lots of lightning and heavy rain.
