PS5s, phones, laptops, high-end perfumes and lakhs of cash have been looted from LPU's Uni Mall during the violent protests. While the shops of electronics and daily needs were vandalised, and their counters were emptied, the stores selling books and other stationary items were left untouched. The contrast has become a talking point.
The rumour of the alleged rape of a student on the LPU campus has provoked anger among the students. The protest turned into violence and then some elements took advantage of this and started looting. Uni Mall was attacked. People broke the glass and started looting laptops, mobiles, PS5, shoes, clothes and food. The mall was destroyed, the campus was vandalized and arson occurred. The demand for justice became an excuse for robbery.

In the wake of recent violence, shopkeepers at Uni Mall, LPU, are working hard to quantify their losses. VN Computers was particularly hard hit, losing all laptops and essential gear during the mayhem. Other businesses like mobile retailers and Lovely Sweets were also looted, as were courier offices. CCTV footage has recorded some of the culprits, while university officials begin tallying the extensive damages.
