F1 Dutch GP: Norris Pips Russell to Grab Pole
Lando Norris secured pole position for Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, narrowly beating Mercedes driver George Russell by 0.103 seconds, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli completing the top three.
The Briton had finished third in Saturday's sprint race, bemoaning that McLaren didn't have the pace, but credited small car adjustments for his turnaround. The changes gave him confidence to challenge his rivals.
Norris beat Russell by 0.103 seconds, with McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri taking fourth. Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc occupied fifth and sixth, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen qualified seventh.
Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix begins at 2pm, with Norris hoping to convert pole into a second consecutive victory. Overtaking is expected to be difficult on the tight, twisty Zandvoort circuit.
Elsewhere, Haas driver Oliver Bearman qualified 20th, confirming his fears that the team had regressed to the 'second-worst team' status. Cadillacs of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez finished 21st and 22nd respectively.
