Lagway throws 4 TD passes to lead visiting Baylor to a 55-19 rout of Arizona State
Baylor outgained Arizona State 564-409 and scored touchdowns on its first three drives after an early three-and-out.
On Saturday night, Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bears past Arizona State 55-19 in Tempe, extending their winning streak to four consecutive games.
Baylor's offense appeared finally unleashed after struggling since losing by one point to Auburn in Atlanta, as offensive coordinator Jake Spavital drew up creative red zone plays that sparked three touchdowns on four early drives.
Baylor outgained Arizona State 564 total yards to 409, with an unprecedented 241 rushing yards, while tight ends Hawkins Polley and Tony Livingston each scored touchdowns as the Bears scored on 9 of 13 drives.
With the dominant victory, Baylor earns a week off before resuming conference play, while Lagway added an 11-yard rushing touchdown to his four passing scores.
Arizona State looked rusty after beating Kansas in London two weeks ago and will host Hawaii next Saturday before resuming conference play at Texas Tech in two weeks.
