Down Early, Dodgers Prove Too Strong, End Cubs' 10-Game Win Streak
Roki Sasaki earned his second major league win as Los Angeles scored 10 or more runs for the fourth time this season.
On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers snapped the Chicago Cubs' 10-game winning streak with a 12-4 victory, seizing control with a six-run fourth inning.
Cubs starter Colin Rea struggled, yielding six runs in 3 1/3 innings, while Dodgers pitcher Roki Sasaki struck out five across five frames to earn his second major league victory.
Despite the loss, Chicago's Seiya Suzuki, Moisés Ballesteros, and Miguel Amaya each hit solo home runs, with the 22-year-old Ballesteros delivering a go-ahead blast in the fourth inning.
Max Muncy hit a two-run homer and Andy Pages drove in three runs, with Los Angeles adding four more in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 10-4.
Manager Craig Counsell said, "We did not have a good pitching day today," as the Cubs prepare to face LHP Justin Wrobleski in Sunday's series finale.
