- On Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced the seizure of $7 million in stolen cargo and $1 million in cash following 13 search warrants served across Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
- Between December 2025 and February 2026, investigators tracked organized crime rings, leading to the arrest of nine suspects booked on charges including grand theft cargo, money laundering, and receiving stolen property.
- Thirty-Six companies, including Amazon, Costco, Sony, and Marshalls, were affected by the thefts, with recovered items ranging from Hisense televisions and LG microwaves to Disney clothing, Milwaukee tools, and Classica Cordials premium liquor.
- Officials will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration following the operation by the LASD Major Crimes Bureau Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team.
