- According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, nearly all patients this year suffered severe illness affecting the brain or spinal cord and required hospitalization.
- Los Angeles County Health Officer Muntu Davis warned the county remains in peak transmission season, urging residents to "use insect repellent, eliminate standing water where mosquitoes can breed and ensure windows and doors have tight-fitting screens without holes or tears."
- Enhanced surveillance, mosquito-control treatments, and public outreach are underway to combat elevated virus activity, San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District Manager Jason Farned said.
