L3Harris Ousts CEO Kubasik over Conduct Breach, Names Insider Mehta as Replacement
The defense contractor also named Lewis Hay III independent chairman and reaffirmed its 2026 financial guidance.
On Monday, L3Harris Technologies appointed Sam Mehta as President and CEO, effective immediately, following the departure of Christopher Kubasik after a board investigation.
The board's investigation determined Kubasik's conduct was inconsistent with the company's code of conduct, though L3Harris stated the exit was unrelated to financial reporting or operational performance.
Mehta, who previously led divisions accounting for about 80% of L3Harris total revenue, assumes the role as the company reaffirmed its 2026 consolidated revenue and free cash flow guidance.
Lewis Hay III, L3Harris' Lead Independent Director, was named Independent Chairman of the Board, while shares fell 3% in premarket trading following the announcement.
L3Harris remains committed to its previously announced $3 billion capital buildout to increase solid rocket motor production and strengthen supply chains for critical national defense needs.
