Kroger Taps Digital Retail Expert to Lead E-Commerce Push
Faust brings more than 20 years of ecommerce experience as Kroger says online sales rose 19% and turned a profit last quarter.
On Tuesday, The Kroger Co. announced Nate Faust as Executive Vice President and Chief eCommerce Officer, effective September 1, 2026. "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work alongside Greg again," Faust said.
Faust previously co-founded Jet.com, which Walmart acquired for $3.3 billion in 2016, and served as Senior Vice President of Walmart U.S. eCommerce Supply Chain. He reunites with Foran, having worked together at Walmart.
Kroger's eCommerce business generated $16 billion in 2025 and reached profitability for the first time this year. The company scaled back robotic warehouse plans to prioritize store-based fulfillment.
With $147.6 billion in annual sales, the grocer operates nearly 2,700 stores and employs 403,000 workers. Online sales recorded 19% year-over-year growth in the most recent quarter.
Faust's hire follows C-suite changes since Foran became the company's first outsider CEO in February. Recent appointments include Emilee De Martino as chief people officer.
