Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to participate "in some way" in the G20 summit, scheduled for 21-22 November 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The statement was made on Thursday, 2 October, by Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitri Peskov.
Putin has not come in person to the last G20 meetings and, in the case of South Africa, there is the added circumstance that he is an integrated country in the International Criminal Tribunal (ICC), which has formally ordered the arrest of the Russian president for war crimes in Ukraine.
