Kraft Heinz to increase Canadian production with $250-million investment in Montreal factory
The $250 million upgrade will boost production capacity at Kraft Heinz’s Montreal plant, which employs about 1,000 people and makes half of the company’s Canadian products.

- Mont Royal plant employs 1,000 people and runs 41 manufacturing lines, producing more than half of Kraft Heinz's Canadian output and boosting Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Heinz ketchup production.
- The Government of Canada welcomed the investment, and Kraft Heinz Canada expressed gratitude for its partnership, saying it supports local jobs and communities.
- Steve Cahillane, Kraft Heinz chief executive, framed the investment as part of a turnaround to reverse revenue declines since 2023, following a 2014 public-relations storm over ketchup production and repatriation of ketchup to Montreal.
