Today's demonstration was one of the largest organized in Kosovo since the conviction of Thaci was announced on Wednesday.

The protesters also demanded the dismissal of Justice Minister Donika Gervala.

Thousands protested in the center of Pristina against the sentences of four former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commanders convicted by the Special Court for Kosovo in The Hague for war crimes during the 1998-1999 war. The demonstration in Skenderbeg Square was organized by the KLA veterans' organization. Participants included MPs, public figures and relatives of the convicted, including their children.
