- Through "an open recruitment process," the association hired the 48-year-old, marking the first time the KFA has used this method to select a national team manager.
- Moreno will oversee the national team's next six international matches against Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Uzbekistan, remaining eligible for the Asian Cup role "subject to an evaluation."
- Previously managing clubs in France, Spain, and Russia, the coach faced allegations earlier this year of using ChatGPT for match preparation, which he wrote were "completely false.
