Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Kojo Asemanyi, has announced his intention to contest the parliamentary seat again in the 2028 general elections. Asemanyi lost the constituency to National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Desmond Degraft Paitoo in both the 2020 and 2024 elections.
