Kingdom Hearts Anime Series in Development at Disney
The series will reimagine the franchise with a brand-new story and is being developed with Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix, Disney said.

- Square Enix confirmed Kingdom Hearts IV will launch in late 2027 on Playstation, Xbox One Series, Nintendo Switch, and Epic Game Store, expanding the franchise across multiple platforms.
- Actor Benjamin Bratt will reprise his role as Ernesto in the upcoming game, which features a world based on Pixar's Coco, deepening the franchise's Disney integration.
- Following Kingdom Hearts III's January 2019 release, which shipped more than five million copies worldwide, the franchise now enters a major expansion phase with both anime and Kingdom Hearts IV.
