- Reporting on the inspections, Rodong Sinmun noted Kim reviewed production at enterprises overseen by the Second Economic Commission, the body responsible for defense manufacturing, over the course of three days.

- Kim called for artillery forces to possess the "most concentrated and destructive" capabilities, emphasizing their dual mission of deterring and fighting war, according to the KCNA.
