- Early counting in the 140-member Kerala Assembly shows the Congress-led UDF leading in 89 seats, crossing the 71-seat halfway mark required to form a government. The CPI-led Left Democratic Front trails with 44 seats, while the BJP-led NDA holds the lead in five.
- A strong wave of anti-incumbency sentiment and corruption allegations appears to have hit the ruling Left Democratic Front, which sought an unprecedented third consecutive term. Several senior ministers are now trailing in their respective constituencies.
- Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is trailing in Dharmadam, while Ettumanoor Cooperation Minister V N Vasavan trails by over 13,000 votes. Kottarakkara Finance Minister K N Balagopal maintains a strong lead of around 12,000 votes.
- Opposition UDF leader VD Satheesan is leading in Paravur, positioning himself as a favorite for chief minister. In Nemom, BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar holds a lead of over 2,000 votes against General Education Minister V Sivankutty.
- While many senior officials face defeat, some ministers hold their ground. Ollur Revenue Minister K Rajan and Chengannur Minister Saji Cherian continue to lead, illustrating a mixed performance for the ruling coalition.
