Kemi Badenoch rules out deals with Reform as she blasts ‘dishonest’ defectors
On Friday, Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch ruled out election deals with Reform, stating she would prefer a fresh election over forming a 'monstrous Reform/Conservative hybrid' government if a hung parliament emerged.
Badenoch criticized politicians who defected to Nigel Farage's party, specifically naming Robert Jenrick, labeling them 'some of the most dishonest people' she has encountered and ruling out their return to the Conservative Party.
Speaking at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the leader expressed she 'feels a pull to Scotland,' describing the country's relationship with the SNP as 'very dysfunctional' while praising Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay as potential first minister.
Rejecting 'drama queens' in her party, Badenoch insisted she wants members serious about delivery, adding that allowing defectors to 'jump in and out' would signal desperation and lack of seriousness.
Emphasizing her goal to 'win on my own terms,' Badenoch warned 'the country is going to be in a pretty bad place' if the Conservatives fail to secure victory at the next general election.
