Among the main measures of the initiative is the creation of the National Housing Fund (FONAVI), aimed at acquiring mortgage loans originating from financial institutions.
"We need a Chile of owners, more than a Chile of tenants," said President José Antonio Kast.
The organization highlighted that the announced measures will strengthen savings and expand alternatives to housing finance, deepening the role of the public bank in access to housing. BancoEstado valued the announcement of the Capital Market Law, the House of Own and Savings, an initiative that includes new instruments aimed at strengthening the savings of families and improving the financing conditions for access to housing.
Kast presented in Cerro Castillo a package of 30 measures. The Fonavi will buy first-rate mortgages and seeks to lower rates in three to four years.
The Capital Market Reform Bill provides for the creation of the FONAVI fund for up to US$2 billion and a 3% state subsidy to complete the housing floor, together with incentives for business investment.
