Kansas City mother sentenced to 13 years in prison after infant died in oven

- According to court documents, Thomas claimed she intended to put her daughter down for a nap but accidentally placed her in the oven instead of the crib.
- Thomas pleaded guilty to the felony charge on Tuesday, resulting in the dismissal of a first-degree murder charge as part of a plea agreement.
- She will receive credit for time served and must pay $68 to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund, concluding the sentencing terms.
