- John Deere recently broke ground on a $125 million, 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center on 234 acres near Hebron, Indiana, in Lake County.
- Part of Deere & Company's U.S. expansion, both facilities are slated to begin operations within the next year, and John May stated, 'These investments further demonstrate our commitment to invest $20B in U.S. manufacturing over the next 10 years.'
- Local officials note that the Indiana project will create approximately 150 jobs with wages above the county average, supported by $2,500,000 in incentives from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, while John Deere maintains its Milan, Illinois, distribution center with about 1,200 employees.
