Reliance-Disney's JioHotstar to Invest $444 Million in South Indian Content, Executive Says

- Some 1,500 hours of South content will roll out over the next year, reaching 400 million users with 99.96% post code presence and close to 45% connected TV viewing.
- The platform aims to more than double subscribers via regional and influencer-led programming, with Malayalam content driving over 80% of watch time from viewers outside Kerala as southern consumers spend nearly 70% more time on JioHotstar.
- With Hindi industry challenges, JioHotstar's regional-first push ranks among the largest streaming investments focused on South India, expanding Roadies in Telugu and Bigg Boss across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
