Jing Yan shoots 66 at breezy Blythefield to take Meijer LPGA Classic lead
Yan carded a bogey-free 66 and moved to 10 under, leaving her one stroke ahead with the final round ahead.
On Friday, 30-year-old American Jing Yan shot a 6-under 66 to take the second-round lead at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Belmont, Mich., reaching 10 under at Blythefield Country Club.
Lottie Woad of England and Cassie Porter of Australia trail by a single stroke, while first-round leader Yan Liu of China and Minji Kang of South Korea sit at 8 under.
Yan said conditions were breezy but tricky, noting "I putted well, so that kind of adds up to birdies" after her bogey-free round.
Two-Time winner Brooke Henderson advanced, while Second-ranked Jeeno Thitikul missed the cut. University of Oregon star Kiara Romero also exited the tournament.
The Meijer LPGA Classic serves as the final event before the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, a major set to take place next week at Hazeltine.
