Furyk Names Cink and Leonard as U.S. Ryder Cup Vice Captains
Furyk tapped two veteran players with Ryder Cup experience as he builds his U.S. staff for the 2027 matches.
On Saturday, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk announced Justin Leonard and Stewart Cink as vice captains for the 2027 matches at Adare Manor in Ireland.
Furyk selected the pair for their experience in away Ryder Cups and Presidents Cups, describing Leonard as his "right-hand man" and "the most organised, meticulous person I know."
Cink assisted Furyk during the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal, while Leonard played in three Ryder Cups and clinched a famous comeback at The Country Club.
The Americans have not won a Ryder Cup away from home for three decades, and Europe has won recent matches, creating significant challenge for the U.S. team.
Drawing on three decades of experience, Furyk aims to position his team for success at Adare Manor, noting the players' passion drove his return to captaincy.
