Jessica Biel Teams With Paramount TV On Series Adaptation Of Vampire Novel 'Coffin Moon'
Jessica Biel’s Iron Ocean joins the adaptation as Paramount Television Studios builds a series around a veteran and his niece hunting a vampire.
- Paramount Television Studios is developing a series adaptation of Keith Rosson's horror novel Coffin Moon, with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple's Iron Ocean producing. The announcement coincides with the paperback release today.
- Set during a brutal 1975 winter in Portland, Oregon, the story follows Vietnam veteran Duane Minor and his thirteen-year-old niece Julia, who seek vengeance against the vampire that slaughtered their family.
- Award-Winning writers Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue are attached to develop and showrun the series, with Rosson serving as consulting producer. The team previously collaborated on Painkiller and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
- This project marks another collaboration between Paramount and Iron Ocean under their first-look deal. The partners are also developing Robert Ludlum's The Ambler Warning, announced last October.
- Drawing inspiration from Charles Portis' True Grit, the novel debuted last September and earned praise from Stephen King, though the series has no announced premiere date.
