Jeremy Clarkson Teases Plans for ‘Bigger’ New TV Show to Rival Celebrity Traitors
Clarkson said the next project must be “unbelievably ambitious” as he weighs whether Prime Video will renew the farming series.
On Monday, presenter Jeremy Clarkson confirmed filming for the sixth series of Clarkson's Farm wrapped, and speaking Tuesday at the Royal Television Society London Convention, the 66-year-old signaled he is evaluating his next television project.
Since its 2021 launch, the series has become a major Amazon Prime Video success, winning consecutive National Television Awards, with the upcoming sixth season expected to arrive next summer on the streaming platform.
Addressing the changing media landscape, Clarkson argued shows must be "unbelievably ambitious" to compete, advocating a "fewer, bigger, better" strategy and citing The Celebrity Traitors as a "very good example" of effective event television.
Advocating for industry consolidation, the presenter proposed that the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4, and Channel 5 should merge into a unified platform dubbed "BritFlix" to pool talent and resources.
Clarkson expressed concern that traditional television is losing talent to social media, noting that hobby-focused shows like cooking and gardening struggle to survive without drastic industry change.
