Louisville, Jeff Brohm Reach 8-Year, $64.8m Extension
The extension rewards Brohm after three straight winning seasons and adds bigger bonuses for College Football Playoff and Tier 1 bowl success.
On Thursday, the University of Louisville Athletic Association approved an eight-year contract extension for head coach Jeff Brohm through 2033, worth $64.8 million.
Negotiations began in December after Brohm led the Cardinals to three consecutive nine-win seasons, compiling a 28-12 record since returning as head coach in 2023.
Brohm receives a $1 million raise with base salary increasing to $7.8 million by 2033, while the agreement provides $750,000 in additional budget for football staff, coaches, and recruiting.
Athletics Director Josh Heird said he is "excited that Jeff's gonna be here for the foreseeable future," emphasizing both parties found common ground to best serve the university.
The contract includes incentives for College Football Playoff success and Tier 1 bowl appearances; if Louisville terminates without cause before December 31, 2029, it owes Brohm approximately $27.5 million.
